As a photographer it is rather annoying seeing all of these images posted without any hint of where it came from, let alone any kind of credit given. How about putting a little more effort into it?
Now this is a-little un-fair. Different cultures have different definitions of "love". I feel like this image is speaking negatively of polyandrous partnerships and positively of our westernized concept of equal and openly expressed monogamous companionship. People of polyandrous marriages have good relationships too, and not all are bad. Some live perfectly happy lives. If this is just about expression of companionship, I find openly expressed partnerships a-bit immature. More refined, traditional love speaks more to me than two idiots rubbing against each-other in petty bond strengthening. The two on the right seem committed to each-other. I wouldn’t be surprised if the two on the left broke-up in the next 10 years. Also, if this is about sexism, then I had no idea because there was no initial analysis of this image provided.
If you ask me, i think the couple on the left seem more like a two friends than husband and wife; they are quite apart of each other and i find it interesting that both are holding their other hand. What were they thinking? There is neither hostility nor strangeness in the man as his forehead plain, so he's watching for another reason... after that, it would be guessing too much.
Oh well …maybe this isn’t a culture/religion thing. The couple on the right could just be married. Trust me.... I know – 8 years happily married.
