About Me:
I am Allegra's raging bile duct.

I'm not sure who I am, or where I'm going. I draw a lot. Write a lot. I love music, and theatre... basically any form of the arts I can get my hands on.

I read greedily and take it all into myself where I then spew it back out in my own form on Microsoft Word. Sometimes it flows easy and well, and the colors of the words flow together. Sometimes it's like pulling teeth, ideas and sentences refusing to leave the refuge of my mind.

Drawing has lately been easy and enjoyable and its been so long since I've felt paint and ink on my fingers. It's beautiful.

Lately, women are more and more enchanting, and I want one more and more, all to myself. All soft curves and warm smiles and long hair. I like men, too, but my men are usually willowy and androgynous at best.

In fact, androgyny is the pinnacle of perfection, stunning in its ambiguity. Ugly in its murky excuse for a definition.

Despite all this, I love science as well. Facts and order and things to rely on. I love medicine, the anatomy and physiology of the human body.

Humans are, basically, what I'm all about. From neural synapses to the masterpieces they create, to the wars they plague.

Oh, the ocean? Marine life? I like Cephalopoda. Mozilla is telling me Cephalopoda is not a word. It is.

I'm also a big geek. I'm slowly learning the Japanese language. To me, it is a melodic tongue and I take great joy from just listening to it.

I am a weird combination. I am constantly shifting, changing, molding myself into something new.

Change never stays the same, but it is the only constant.

"Take me how I am, 'cause you know I'll never change.
I was born to stare,
at who stares back at me.
If I make it up, to that big show in the sky,
all I really want,
is my TV and you." - VAST

Why are you here?
To find fellow atheist friends, of course! And possibly a boyfriend, or a girlfriend, or something.
The religion you left
Judaism, Was never a part of one
Why you left your religion.
I was never really raised with religion, so it was never a big part of myself. I still consider myself a Jew, if only culturally.

You should post some of your work. I have some shabby recordings of my music and some pictures of my visual art... one really long poem on... on my myspace.
www.myspace.com/nortonlucas. Give it a look, I could always use another opinion, constructive comment, alll that jive.

Hey Allegra, thanks for the add!
  • Norton Rosco Lucas

I gotta tell you, that's the most insightful thing I've heard about any of my artwork... ever. Not pulling legs or chains of any sort. And it's also one of the most encouraging things I've heard in a long time, so thank you. And tool happens to be one of my favorite bands... but I sang the way I sing before I found Tool, out singing styles are similar because of how we write... (I became obsessed in finding out why people kept saying "Dude! You sound just like that guy from Tool, Man!" so I watched a few interviews.) We start out with mumbles... and eventually those sounds become words.. Maynard does it to illustrate the music, I do it to both illustrate the music, and force myself to be honest.

I checked out your sketches, and I can't discern your message, but in the same I feel that I understand a connection with disconnection. In my interpretation, These sketches illlustrate feeling at home when taken out of your element, like being ripped into another world, but in the same event, being released. I dunno, maybe it's like seeing shapes in the autum branches. I see faces... lol I've got an obsession with faces. Comment complete.

Ha ha, no worries. Guess I just got used to the "thanks for the add" bit. My name's on my profile. It's Graham. Pronounced like gram, not like gray-ham. I had a teacher in second grade who pronounced my name gray-ham. I hated that. When she would correct students she would yell at us with her mouth about 6 inches from our faces, and she tended to have white crusty globs appear in the corners of her mouth. Made for a nasty situation and the abuse of my name. Anyway, I'm 26, I'm studying astrophysics in Colorado, my girlfriend is a grad student in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, we have a ferret named Neelix and a dog named Annabelle, I like to read and write, and I play the guitar, the didgeridoo, and harmonica, and I am a huge dork. So what do you do in life that is? Your profile says you're really into music. Do you play any instruments or sing, or are you just into listening?
  • Graham E. Lau

It's cool. Nothing wrong with ranting.

As for the nerd-alerts in my closet: I'm a total Star Trek geek, I'm really getting into Stargate, I used to play Magic the Gathering and Star Wars card games, I love chess, I think old computer hardware is awesome, I love corny math jokes (if you divide a pumpkin's circumference by its diameter you get pumpkin pi), and I had more Legos than any other kid on the block when I was younger. Oh ya!

  • Tophertron

Thanks! So any tips you might have for me?
  • Norton Rosco Lucas

I'll have to make this brief, but let that not effect your opinion as to it's sincerity. You did not come off as kreepy at all, no worries. And as for AIM, not often, but I'm sure I can figure something out, I am in the process of getting a new job that pays way more than the one I just finished, so I'll be getting a new computer and I'll set up an account then, I promise, For now, I'll have to catch you later.
P.S. Post your new work, I'd love to see it.

Hey! =) I have read a couple of Fillerbunnys quite awhile back. Have heard of the others and should probably check them out. hee! hee!
  • Mike Donohoe

Noted. Thank you, Allegra. Interesting parade of images in your photos. I like the color illustrations. Yours? And, yes, at least it's not crack. Or for that matter the recreational drug commonly referred to as alcohol. I know, right? =)
  • Mike Donohoe

Hey. I paint and stuff too. I have operated a motorized rickshaw, (Taxi cab) for ten years. I hate the term drugs and alcohol and this has somewhat to do with the job I've had for so long. That term alone and the implication that drugs are bad and alcohol is something perhaps only vaguely related is such a lie. Marijuana can contribute to respiratory issues, but that's what atomizers are for. =P Generally THC seems to mellow people out. I would much rather pick up a cab load of potheads than a load of drunks, generally speaking. I like a drink now and then but alcohol is associated with depression, suicide, outward violence, and of course does not go well with the operation of machinery.

I actually have been busy busy busy. Starting the new job, getting my apartment set up. GRR. I'll have a few debts to pay off, but it won't take long... then I have some other matters to attend to. But by the end of april I'll have everything honkey dorey, perhaps sooner, but I don't want to set the bar to high and fuck it up. For now I have to check up on Think Athiest and Myspace whenever I get around a computer. I won't be able to check very often for the next month. I hope you can deal with the comment thing for a while, heh. Anywho, I have to go for now, in a hurry, gotta work lol. I'll check out your new work as soon as I can! Peace out girlscout.

I think that I would like to adopt a mentally retarded baby … When you do something like that, you don’t just do something like that. You have to be very honest with yourself and even accept the ugliest thoughts. For instance, one caveat of adopting a mentally challenged baby might be, best case scenario, you die at 100 of old age, you’re worried about who’s going to take care of your elderly, mentally handicapped child. So I found a solution for me, that works for me. I am going to adopt a mentally retarded baby with a terminal illness.
