I've been to Kentucky Alicia, it's a beautiful state - glad you could stop by and hope you can stay a spell. (I'm normally not so folksy, but I used to teach Kentucky kids who came north to Indiana, and I recall how y'all talk.)

That's another way I am an odd duck here. I don't do the y'all thing, unless I'm making a joke or something. Lived in Louisville for close to 15 years, as I went to UofL and started teaching school up there. Moved to my hometown and got wrenched out of the school system by the God squad. Three years later I'm still unemployed and dying to get out of this place. Yes, it is lovely, but so are cemeteries. I don't mean to sound too bitter, I'm just lost here. I don't identify with the god zombies or the right wingers or the down home crowds that flock here. I'm educated and opinionated and that keeps me unemployed in this half-horse hell hole where it's not only who you know, and who you blow but what your last name is and which side of the tracks you grew up on that determine your job prospects. So, yeah. Pretty much hating life in this place. Years of no prospects tend to make one snappy, I suppose.

I don't mean for any of that to sound like an attack. You were being friendly and trying to relate, which I do appreciate. Thanks for that! I want to leave my comment up, though. I want the truth known about Somerset, KY. It's the worst place to live for a free-thinker, or a thinker at all, really.
