@ Nabil Tarek Basiouni- they may not be at quite the Atheist stage, but free thinking, and sick of old men making violent and destructive rules - doth make renegades. Viva la Revolution!

ملحدين جامعة القاهرة aka Cairo University atheist .. i just stumbled upon this group today .. very interesting
Any active users in this website ? I'm interested to know a community that thinks the same way .
Oct 29, 2012
@MohamedAlgendy Well you found the right place to be, this is a community that thinks - which is enough - come on we are in Egypt
It seems the internet and this site, as well as many other of similar form and function are reaching thinking people everywhere. Welcome!
Some other like-minded folks in Wise County, Texas and yours truly have organized the Wise Free Thinkers and Skeptics MeetUp and all are invited to participate either from long distance or in person. See the MeetUp website to find us. Cheers all!
My pleasure and honor,
And yes, Wise County, an oxymoron for the most part, is west of the Modlem graveyard, which is east of the Jehova's Witness weirdness, so-called Kingdom Hall on 380, not 280. I live 5-miles east of Decatur out in the country where one can almost see one other home in the winter only and it's quiet and incredibly peaceful and home security is not an issue unlike Fort Lauderdale where we had bikes stolen off of our front and back porches at various times.
@Ken Even better, if anyone is passing by Cairo make sure to meet up with us. First round on me :)

@archaeopteryx Thanks for the link of the Paki President.
Well for the chips and dip no need come and taste Sakanaky, Kobaba and Somosa :) cant be explained but tasted ;)
I've harbored a fantasy of visiting Egypt for most of my life that to this point has reached its 68th year, so it has been a while. I came close once, but no banana. I've read so much about Egypt from ancient history to modern times that I need to put some actual experience on my fantasy.
@Ken Well its time you come then, try and catch up before they ban alc. Egypt is really cool for a visit actually

@archaeopteryx hahah eye man, soon they will even cover that, we still dont have Morality Police here "Coming soon" though :)
She also hit him with a hammer, a rolling pin and a slipper.

Nov 6, 2012
Congrats archaeopteryx, you got no crazy guy in the White House but you still have the kinda useless guy which is better in a way :)
Nov 7, 2012
@archaropterx i think turning angry jihadists into peaceful neighbors is a very very optimistic opinion. He might do something useful this time though as you say for the American people.
I've been following Taslima Nasreen ever since i read her book Raja.. she's a very interesting person .. i love her
This will be ugly
Nov 10, 2012
@archaeopteryx well dont worry me and a couple of guys were there with them walking and hearing their stupid chants while drinking beer.. The truth is eventually those islamists are gonna start fighting one another over whose version of sharia is correct and i hope when this happens it will be our time to shine :)
Hey guys... Is there a chat room for this group ? Please let me know if it does exist..Cheers
Nov 11, 2012
actually there is no chat room for the group, however u can help yourself with the wall and say whatever u want ..or u can add a topic for all of us to discuss.
@Skeptical Wanderer - Nice seeing you here too buddy

@archaeoteryx In Pakistan you have liberal areas like Islamabad and Lahore (that actually has a red area - called Hira Mandy which translates to Diamond Market) and really screwed up places that implement sharia like N.W.F.P, i am hearing though that its becoming extremely conservative, we are doing what we can here though - lets see if you can jump over the apparent inevitable dark ages
Nov 17, 2012
@David N Yeah i know how you feel you found the right place check you inbox
@archaeopteryx the only way might be to do what India did, make closest communities for the smart and let them develop for the rest. Still that will be impossible as the current system (the whole system) is great for islamists.
Nov 18, 2012
@David N forgot to tell you something dude, its not the nuts that are the problem as you can avoid them, the real problem are the schizophrenic ones who sit and drink then say "Oh may allah help me stop this sin" - retards to say the least
Its frustrating alright but you get used to it and learn to deal - adaptable species we are ;) I am sure it will all end, its just a matter of time
For all people willing to stand and make a point that freedom in all its forms has those who are willing to defend it and will be in tahrir tomorrow give me a call if you wish 01097206706, Its not certain that it will work but at least so that none will regret not standing at a time when they should have.. if you think its meaningless though then i do respect your opinion and respectfully disagree..

~ Happy New Year ~
Jan 1, 2013
@arch thanks for the support mate.. good luck
@hope Happy new year to you too best of luck too with the 2013
@arch Thanks for sharing..
Maybe this guy seem like an islamophobic or something! I don't know :S..
Islam could be dangerous ONLY if muslims had a power.. Everybody knows that they are weak right now..Like the Ottoman Empire, if it still exist, it would be a major threat to the west..Maybe Christians fear what so called (Islamic awakening) these days = That's why!
I liked the (What is a muslim) page..I wrote something similar to this. It's about the history of Muslims being Jewdu-christians (Hanif) before becoming Muslims..Here:

I was wondering if anyone could help a friend of mine (He's a researcher). He's writing a paper about atheism in the Middle East and he's asking if anyone is a member of ( http://www.il7ad.com ) so he can contact him..
If you find any information about il7ad.com , could you please share it with me?
If you wanna participate or if have any info please send me a direct message..
um... Hi. I'm new here, I just discovered this site in its entirety. right to the point: I've been an ex-muslim for a few years and I'm tired of having friends I'm fake with. And my search led me here. It's pretty cool knowing there are others like me here, it gives me a shred of hope. So I'm looking forward to talking with the lot of you, be it on chat or skype, and perhaps eventually face-to-face.

A quick update on the situation facing Egyptian atheist blogger Alber Saber, who was convicted of blasphemy and sentenced to three years in prison last week.
Daily News Egypt reports that Alber was released on bail yesterday, set at 1,000 Egyptian pounds (about $162). The troubling part (and everything about this case is troubling) is that this bail was paid a week ago, and yet the court kept Alber locked up in jail for no apparent reason. His lawyers are not happy about this.
Alber’s defense team will appeal his conviction, with a date set for January 26th, 2013.
Daily News Egypt also notes that these kinds of charges about offending religious feelings have been on the rise under the presidency of Mohamed Morsi.
Feb 23, 2013
Yeah, he looked very different... And I'm glad to hear about Malala! How many signatures do they need?
I have just met one of Alber's friends,, and I invited him to join us here! =)
