Paisley is good. Lots of fantastic country pickers. Not my style of music, but I love to see a great country player play guitar. Ever seen Albert Lee? If not, check him out on Youtube here with Danny Gatton and Vince Gill:

Yea, I picked up Ballad of John Henry not too long ago, I gotta dig that out and listen more to it. He certainly jams the blues home. I think I saw a YouTube vid with him and Brad Paisley. I'm not into country music, but Paisley can work the frets....

I think we both know many more guitar players than we could possibly name. Joe Bonamassa is one who's been impressing me lately. He has a very masculine approach to playing guitar and almost overdoes the macho bit while playing. Can't fault his playing though.

So many, depends on the genre...Extreme's Nuno Bettencourt, Metalica's Kirk Hammett, Adrian Legg, Eric Johnson, Joe Satriani, Leo Kottke, Dan Fogelberg, Gordon Lightfoot, Alex Lifeson of Rush.

There's more in my head, oh yea, Jimmie Page, Tony Iommi...

So many influences, so little time. SRV was such a great guitarist. BB King once said that Stevie  " flowed when he played ". The way he performed on stage was like, " I want you to feel this ". Eric Johnson on stage is like, " Look what I can do ". Two totally different styles of performance.

Have a great night, Unseen! :)

Who are some of your favorite guitarists? For me there's Clapton, Lonnie Mack, SRV, Jimi (of course), and Danny Gatton. I could go on, but then I'd have a full-blown essay on my hands.

I've had more guitars than just those. These are the first three guitars I got when I started collecting. From left to right a Minarik Lotus, Michael Kelly Patriot Black, and a Reverend Buckshot. The two on the left are basically the Les Paul concept and the Buckshot is a variation on the Telecaster. And it did sound like a Tele!:
