This part I don't get:
"Moral paralysis" as opposed to what, moral activity? The only possible context I can see might make sense is if someone on the left is saying something like "ISIS aren't the bad guys". I also don't get how people like Sam Harris can agree that Islamic reform is necessary, yet claim that 1) only ISIS "correctly" interprets Islamic scripture, and 2) it's the left's fault for taking away his (and Maher's) screeching about how terrible Islam is.
They're announcing to over a billion non-extremist Muslims to the world that they need to step up and reform Islam, and/but hey, forget your Koran because we say that the only way to interpret the Koran is the ISIS way, and you will never have a say in that.
Freedom from religion means not telling anyone how they should or shouldn't practice their religion. I.e. the message should be freedom for all to practice or not practice, as they choose, as long as they're not taking that freedom away from others.
See, that's the difference between liberals, conservatives, and ISIS.
In addition to threats of violence by Islamic fundamentalists, liberal critics of Islam are increasingly abandoned. At best, we are inconvenient afterthoughts, at worst, bigots and hate-mongers.
The intellectual confusion and moral paralysis plaguing the Western Left around the religion of Islam has done much to add credibility to the Western Right. Embodying the now-common approach of elevating politics over principle, the Southern Poverty Law Center has accused the ex-Muslim atheist Ayaan Hirsi Ali and Muslim reformer Maajid Nawaz of “anti-Muslim extremism”.

Just got back from their 2015 convention featuring Taslima Nesrin (I'm sure I did not quite get the spelling right) and Ron Reagan. This was in Madison WI. Richard Dawkins might have showed up but he is doing a book tour. I managed to squeeze in a stop at his KC appearance on the way to the convention (got to drive overnight but it was worth it).
Lifetime member of FFRF. Fabulous organization and leadership.
I've been getting the FFRF newsletter for several years and it's really a nice way to keep up with the news! Really like their coverage of legal issues.
A great group
Hello group! How goes it??
It can ensure peace since religions are source of crime and violence
