Do ex-believer atheists have any pruderies left over from their believing years?
I trained people to do sex education and told them "If you have any hangups you don't know about, "our" eight- and nine-year-old callers will help you find them."
My wife taught comprehensive sex ed in, of all places, Texas before the crazies took over the GOP, and about ten years before I became a sex educator.
Did you get the abstinence-only stuff? Did it help or hurt?
Nice movie.
I was 12 when a baby sister joined the family. My older sister, my younger brother and I, and mom and dad all did diaper duty.
I was 14 or 15 when mom explained menstruation. I of course pretended I wasn't listening but, to use a metaphor, I had every cell tuned in.
The bizarreries I heard during 12 years in Catholic schools did some of the damage the Church intended. If my dad had been a dogmatic Catholic, the damage would have been worse. I quit Catholicism in college, and four years after I graduated I married a non-Catholic who also didn't want children. After six years we divorced.
And now I can tell how I remedied the damage Catholicism had done. I became a sex educator. Check out San Francisco Sex Information.
