It was pretty much like this.

With this as my motto,
I told them at Thanksgiving dinner.
I got drunk and told them that I loved them,
but they were absolute barbarians.

My grandmother was horrified, grasping for answers like a spoiled child trying to make sense of not getting candy for the first time. I didn't care, which I now regret.
My mother was at a loss (for a way to scold me for horrifying her mother with an idea).
My sister was made uncomfortable by the conversation, frowning, red in the face,
and my brother (who is a dolt) quoted Tupac or something, because he is a dolt.
