here goes a poem thar i wrote when i was in school @age 16
actually its based on a quite popular story (u may find it familiar) i heard from a my religious cousin,
i tried to remove the god part in it and made it sound like a self belief one, and yet it was liked by the religious who havent heard the story before. this sparked the thought that all people want is hope in difficult times, and whether u delusion urself to believe that god is talking to u or its ur subconscious only depends on ur understanding of the world, the outcome being nearly the same.
this helpd me understand Mahatma GANDHI, for he always projected his strength, his difficult decisions to god, yet he defined the history of india and the countless people who followed and still follow his philosophy
this poem serves one of the stones on which my atheistic beliefs strengthened though i had already lost faith by age 10
DONT GIVE UP
there lived a man with an intense desire,
to do a feat that everyone would admire.
a milestone in mountain-climbing was what he thought,
in climbing this peak, to be the first of the lot.
he began climbing the snow-capped peak,
top of the mountain, he wished to seek.
he climbed for days,to a considerable height,
but the mountain top was nowhere in sight,
frustration & exhaustion won over insight,
and he continued climbing though it was night,
poor fellow, he misplaced a foot, to his fright.
and falling he came down the slope,
only managing to hold by a rope.
in absolute darkness and no one to ask,
an internal voice came with a risky task.
it asked him to cut off the rope,
that it would work, he didnt hope.
wait for the day and risk dying in cold?,
or was he to cut the rope and be bold?
he waited for the day and hung there,
and died without being much aware.
and then morning came and the people found,
that he hung only a few feet above the ground
i would like to say this to end up,
that never in your life give up
THANKS FOR READING
