Part 1: PBS’s Religion & Ethics Newsweekly Segment on Religion’s role in the Presidential Election: The group watched a 15-minute segment on how the presidential candidates’ respective religions and their public portrayal had a role in the election. There was also mention of the growing number of secular voters and how this changing demographic comes into play.
Part 2: PBS’s Religion & Ethics Newsweekly Segment on Marriage Equality: The next segment detailed the issues surrounding marriage equality, and focused on a homosexual, mixed-race, couple who discussed their personal experiences. The show originally aired before voting took place, and focused largely on efforts taken by different church leaders to promote or to prevent marriage equality.
Periods for open discussion followed for each of the topics.
Part 3: Apocalypse Party Planning: Options for the location were discussed. This was not resolved at the time of the meeting, but it has since been decided that the Party will be held at:
