The last few weeks of carrying a backpack that weighed more than my 2 year old son convinced me to get one. I have been looking at the various netbooks popping up in every store that sells electronics.
I had not previously bought one due to high prices or contracts needed to get one with 3g.
While in Walmart I saw one for a great price, $278, and I couldn't pass it up.
It's Acer Aspire One with windows Xp, 160gb hard drive one gig ram... I'll let walmart tell ya the specs

I got it to take the place of my HP N6000 Laptop when I go to work etc. But, other than missing a cd drive, and blutooth, it is just as fast as my full sized lappy. I think I may get rid of my Hp (I could use the cash) and use the netbook as my primary pc for awhile.
The only complaint I have is the trackpad. It's a bit to touchy for my taste, i remedy this by using a usb mouse. The small screen and keyboard aren't an issue for me.
The battery life is AMAZING. The LED backlit screen is bright, the wifi can see more access points than my HP.
I does come with alot of bloatware. the games are all trials, as is office 07 and mcafee. I had a key for office, deleted the games, and replaced mcafee with avast.
I can even play pirates online with it with no issues.
