Admit it with pride: you are a little bit more than obsessed with your dog(s). They are in the background of your photos, their hair is on your clothes, they have more toys than you do, and eating anything means sharing a bite.

I actually called animal control two years ago on a neighbor of our that had a Doberman that was outside 99% of the time. On one particular day it was snowing like crazy and that poor dog was at their back door on the deck barking continuously to come inside. The dog was usually outside and it upset me as the weather got colder and colder. Animal control did come and talk with me about the situation and then went and talked with the neighbors (I saw the officer walking their backyard minutes later). Unfortunately, they determined that since the dog had "available shelter" outside that there was no major violation. Arghhhhh!!!!! The family moved about a year later and hopefully the dog is in a better situation, but I have my doubts...

Why would people have a dog if they plan to leave it outside 99% of the time? I just don't get it. Our dog is a furry beast and loves the colder weather, but she is NOT an outside dog. She goes out when she wants during the day, but also comes in when she wants and is ALWAYS inside with us overnight.

Torpedo is doing well; he went in for a check-up recently and weighed in a t 82lbs! :o

On the other hand, the vet was not very nice. They were not friendly towards Torpedo and muzzled him because they were scared of him! The same dog the Animal Control officer (who came over when Torpedo caught a possum) said was the nicest shar-pei she'd ever met. :) We will not be using the same vet again!

Can't remember if I already shared this with you??? Might be a repeat performance, but worth it.

POOR, POOR, POOR, Jean Marie.... I don't even know what to say? Hope you were finally able to get rid of the skunk smell in your house. I do think there are recipes for getting rid of the odor that you can find on-line. Sheech....

My dog Stood up for his brother (the cat) today.

it was awesome. I heard the cat outside fighting with another cat, my dog looked out the door and started chasing down the enemy! lol

Thankfully this would never be allowed in the UK, and they would be heavily fined and possibly jailed for this treatment. It is a criminal offence here to deny veterinary treatment, and a new law has introduced a duty of care to meet the animals basic needs, though how the courts are actually going to interpret that is not yet clear.
