Well, far be it from me, an old curmudgeon, to deny anyone a release of pent up frustrations. I don't agree that the US has slid so far downhill as others may say. But, it seems that no matter who you ask and what their political colors are, there is this perception of a downhill slide. Maybe there is, in some specific area or another. But overall, I can't see it.

And now that I have vented, I will silence myself and allow you kids to get back to having fun. ;-)

Reggie. Thanks. Of COURSE we're going to fight. This group is kind of my expression of "exasperated humor." I have no plans to move to Canada... but that doesn't change the fact that I think the US has gone WAY down hill from where it started.

I joined just to voice my disapproval. Tucking tail and running is not the answer. I assume this is directed to Americans, i.e. citizens of the United States. This country was founded during the enlightenment and some very smart, determined folk worked very hard to make this country something special. We have seen ups and plenty of downs. Today, things are not nearly as bad as in many points of our history. So, it raises my ire that when people are faced with even a small amount of stupidity, they want to run off. Look it! We have banished slavery, went through civil rights movements, granted womens' suffrage, enacted laws to protect the little people, etc. and etc.!

Idiots reside everywhere, even in Canada. Take a stand and fight for something. Do something to effect change instead of running away from the problem.
