I came up with this a few years ago whilst arguing with my family about their beliefs and I've found it to be true. I also think Penn Gillette from Penn and Teller said it on their show Bullshit!
"No amount of knowledge can change faith" - me
"Truth changes, the facts stay the same."
"Belief in God arose from fear and confusion about the mysteries of nature." Herb Silverman
Religious zeal can be described as a morbid preoccupation with an imaginary friend.
I would rather be a devil in alliance with truth, than an angel in alliance with falsehood.
Ludwig Feuerbach 1804 - 1872 - Atheist, Philosopher and Anthropologist.
Christianity set itself the goal of fulfilling man’s unattainable desires, but for that very reason ignored his attainable desires. By promising man eternal life, it deprived him of temporal life, by teaching him to trust in God’s help it took away his trust in his own powers; by giving him faith in a better life in heaven, it destroyed his faith in a better life on earth and his striving to attain such a life. Christianity gave man what his imagination desires, but for that very reason failed to give him what he really and truly desires.
I have noticed even people who claim everything is predestined, and that we can do nothing to change it, look before they cross the road

We adjust to new conditions and discoveries. We are pliable.
Love need not be a command nor faith a dictum. I am my own god.
We are here to unlearn the teachings of the church, state, and our educational system. We are here to drink beer. We are here to kill war.
We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that Death will tremble to take us.
- Charles Bukowski - American/German Poet and Author
"Since religion cannot hold on its own merit, it uses the state to prop itself up. Some say I confuse religion and the separation of church and state, and say that religion is really only a problem when it meddles in the affairs of politics. In fact, religion almost ALWAYS meddles in politics - it always has and it always will, because, again, it can't stand alone."
"Most theists don't understand that the separation of church and state benefits them, because it preserves their freedom to change their mind. Indeed, the only real beneficiaries to a merged church and state are the preachers in the majority religion and the politicians in their pockets."
- Dave Silverman, President of American Atheists Inc.: 2011 American Atheists Convention, Des Moines Iowa, Opening Address.
