Permalink Reply by David Thorne on April 5, 2011 at 2:57pm In Joshua’s day it was not known that the earth was a 10-to-the-24th kilogram sphere rotating on its axis at 15 degrees per hr (360 per 24). If the sun appeared to stop in its path then it was the earth that suddenly stopped rotating. One consequence of that would be that every loose object on the surface would fly off tangentially at roughly a thousand miles per hour. However, before that occurred the loss of angular momentum would release the equivalent of millions of hydrogen bombs, vaporizing the earth’s crust, melting the mantle and fracturing the core. Other cultures around the world, not battling some other small clan, would indeed have noticed it. At least briefly, if not then able to record it.

I for one find it more unbelievable that the so-called Christian was able to remember such obscure bible stories considering most of them don’t read it to begin with. I don’t understand what all the excitement is about any way. They were too late. God already revealed himself in breakfast foods long before this event ever took place.

The story is incredibly childish. NASA's last concern is proving the Bible... To the contrary, I think their main focus is figuring out how to save their agency from being shut down.
