I agree with Reggie about the standards of the finished product. Once you get past trying to edit, it's actually not too hard (if you can find the time) to plow through 50k words. However, I still have not had time to edit the whole thing and I know that the plot is incoherent in places and needs fact-checking.

Mario, it was easier than I thought. It's just that the output is not up to the standards that an author might like for a finished product. I think I was at 20K after the first 8 days. I had more trouble finding the time to sit down and get into a groove.

I'm writing a fantasy novel right now. My very first, but the idea for the world it's based on has been kicking around in my head since high school.

But man. 50,000 words in 30 days. I can barely break 10,000 in 30 days.

Yahoo! Ok, the book and both term papers somehow got written. Now I can get my university application done, lols. This really was a great experience, and I finally learned how to force myself to write. Thanks for putting out the word about it, Reggie.

Exactly. And it is the month for literary abandon! But just because you can, does that require you to? Why not just end it without an ending. Like "No Country for Old Men"?
