we know about the advantages of circumcission, now the question is whether u (an atheist medical person) wil encourage circumcission? if yes, then to how much extent? wil u advise atheists to have their boys circumcised? would u defend it in front of those who think it as a cruel practice? would u support it as a preventive measure for penile disorders to the rest of the scientific community (or the world in general)?

i was born in a muslim family and was circumcised. perhaps the only thing remotely related to my religion that i would inflict upon my son would be circumcision. when done properly, i would make him immune to atleast one carcinoma, just like i m.

But is it worth taking his choice away?
Unless it's hereditary and runs in your family and he'd be highly susceptible to carcinoma, I would just leave it to him to decide when he's old enough.

I'd have to leave that between them and their doctor. As for friends and family, I'd just say I wouldn't do it, but it's up to you. If there's a desire later for circumcision, it's never too late, right? Give offspring the choice.
