Ryan you shouldn't have a problem meeting people in Shreveport. Just start a meet up group and you'll see. If you start one, eventually you can network with Adam, become an affiliate and contact the Alexandria. May be able to start a state wide network. I'm gonna try starting one in West Monroe. May take a bit but at least we can work on it.

Hey Ryan,
There is atheist nexus. They do a lot of networking max you would probably be able to find more people in the area. Also American ateists has a facebook web link that allows everyone in Louisiana to talk and get to know each other. I have heard of several other people up in that area and Monroe trying to reach out and find other people. You could also reach out the universities as well. Lsu has AHA. On the campus down here so I imagine there would be a similar organization up there.
We are now up to 60 here in BR and still growing. So in the past 3 days we've added 5 member. It takes some time to get it rolling. Our first meetings we only had 3 or 4 members. For all of the other new groups hang in there. It starts slow but then it takes off!

Thanks Adamn, im now a member on meetup.com. Still I wish there were way more of us, not trying to get to personal but I have been single for 5 years now because there just is nobody here like me, and I refuse to get involved with anybody of any religious belief, plus it would be nice to meet some friends who have the ability to have educated normal conversations

Just to let everyone know, capital area atheists and agnostics, we are getting close to getting our non profit status. We are going to start dying community involvement and improvement events. If there is any other group out there wants to get on board, we'd love to have you and you'd be able to use our name to get the non profit status that most places require you to have.

Hey Ryan,
Start a group up like Brian did. Meetup.com is a good medium to others. My fiancé and I started one in BR a little less than a year ago and we have 55 members and growing rapidly! Once we finish getting our non profit status we predict an explosion of new members. You just got to get it started.
If you build it, they will come!
