Lobbying is simply a fancy word for participation. When most people think about "lobbying the government," or any entity such as the United Nations, most people who are unaware of their own rights would think that you have to already be in a position of power or influence to have your voice heard.
This is actually very far from the truth.
The truth of the matter is that elected officials WANT to hear from the people they serve. They want to know what the people want, but when no one speaks up, they always act in a way that serves their own interests. I suppose that is human nature is it not?
I am starting this group because there are a number of world issues that have tremendous opportunity for people like you and me to lobby for or against. It doesn't seem fitting to discuss lobbying on the main forum, so this is a separate place to do so.
