We non-theists are often dismissive of thought that is not rational, even though we are seeing how pervasive it is in our complex brains.  There are some of us who struggle with compulsive behaviors that are not controlled rationally and need the support of an evidence-based system of help that is not theistic in orientation.

The fact that this forum is here but that it is not active saddens me on two levels.  First, there must be many atheists members of this organization who have this compulsive behavior. Second, I am one of those and need the wisdom and community of others to help me.

I hope this important topic can gain traction in the atheist community.
