peace.
Newbie here. Looking for intelligence out there. None of it here in Angleton.
I don't think you'll find any atheist doctrine or worldview or rules to go over at these meetings. There are none. Put it this way: People who follow the church of Satan are atheists. Humanists are atheists, objectivists are atheists, but chances are you will not find much agreement from those three worldviews about how you should live your live. The only thing that they would agree on is a lack of belief in any dieties. There is a Houston atheist group, but I have never been to a meeting. There is the Center for Inquiry, which promotes a humanist worldview of a secular society. They publish Free Inquiry magazine. you might also try a collection of essays compiled by S T Joshi entitled "Atheism, a Reader."
I'd like to learn about atheism. Is there a group I can attend on FM 1960? I'm a Christian, but I'd like to learn from folks who have thought through their beliefs. Houston seems less than friendly toward real seekers, people who want to ask the tough questions about either Christianity or otherwise.
Hello,
I live in Katy. Is this group even active.
