Make Animal Welfare a National Priority with the Prevention of Farm Animal Cruelty Act>>> SIGN PETITION

H.R. 4733, The Prevention of Farm Animal Cruelty Act, would require the government to buy food products only from animals that can move freely in their confinement -- that means no gestation crates, battery cages, or veal crates.

And since it's virtually impossible to trace every piece of meat at the packing plant back to it's farm of origin, every packer would need to require their suppliers to comply with the new law. Virtually every farm in the country would comply with these new, more humane standards.

One person can save trees, together we can save forests.

Starbucks >>> Join the movement. On April 15th, bring a reusable travel mug into your local Starbucks and get a free brewed coffee.

For the good of the planet, Starbucks is encouraging everyone to switch from paper cups to reusable travel mugs. One day in March thousands of New Yorkers made the switch. Join them now by taking a pledge to do the same.

Some California stores give bags away for free, but discount one's groceries by 5 cents per bag they save through customer reuse. Another gives a raffle ticket, for a weekly drawing, per reused/reusable bag. Almost all sell reusable bags (with advertising) for $0.99 apiece, and craft stores sell blank canvas bags of the right size for $2 apiece.
