With the death of GNOME2 (May his source never been abandoned) and the birth of GNOME 3 shell and Unity shell, a lot of discomfort has risen among the community, even Linus Torvalds ditched both and when to XFCE.Which brings to several questions: What's your favorite DE and why? Do you like GNOME 3 and/or Unity?

I'm currently using Kubuntu 11.04, i like that it has a familiar, productive and, most importantly, very customizable environment. My only issue is that kwin crashes every now and then. I have use both Unity and GNOME 3 Shell, i prefer gnome shell as it uses less resources, is easier to access its menu.
