Uganda: Rights Not Repression

Gay Ugandans may be sentenced to death if legislation being debated right now passes.

High level international condemnation has just pushed the President to send the bill for review, but Ugandan allies say only a worldwide outcry could tip Parliamentarians away from discrimination, alarming them with global isolation.

We have just days left -- sign the petition to oppose Uganda's anti-gay law below and send it on to friends and family and it will be delivered to Uganda's politicians, donors and embassies around the world.

Hello. I finally gained the courage to join this group. I am a "Q" [Questioning]. I may very well be a bisexual with a tendency to favor males over females but open to both... IDK yet... I'm trying to work out my own confusion. Of course, I tried to tell my theist mother, and she didn't believe me thinking I was "being a drama queen." And she said she "doesn't believe bisexuals truely exist but believes they're confused straits." - umm... you can probably imagine how much that hurts me.
But the more time that passes, the more I think I'm bi. But since I'm not sure whether my attraction to women is "sexual" [including physical attraction] or just "romantic" [attraction to personality traits and physical beauty but without strong sexual undertones] - I think, for the time I'll remain "questioning." - However, I'm with you guys on the gay rights act all the way.

Laws against homosexuality abound. Does anyone know how many people have been imprisoned?

Hey everyone, Just thought I'd pitch a shout-out to you all. I'm brand-new to the T|A group and wanted to introduce myself. Hit me up if you like. I'm Bi-, but am in a monogamous relationship with my boyfriend Chris. I am an assertive (but not obnoxious) Atheist who lives in Atlanta and am interested in recruiting new Atheists in the Bible Belt. Peace to each of you! Eric

Groups tend to be quiet. I started a Skeptics group with the intention of posting and nourishing a lot of information there, but life has intervened. Without that dedication, not much activity has happened there, either.

Are straight atheists allowed here? I know where the cool parties are at!
