Well we just got rid of the second dictator, lets see how it goes. Everyone was very happy with Mubarak left. But it was like a party all over Egypt today

Egypt army ousts Morsi, who decries 'coup'

CAIRO (AP) — The armed forces ousted Egypt's first democratically elected president Wednesday after just a year in power, installing a temporary civilian government, suspending the constitution and calling for new elections. Islamist President Mohammed Morsi denounced it as a "full coup" by the military.

Ex-Taliban official vows to protect Afghan women, but alarm bells ring

KABUL

(Reuters) - Just 16 years ago, Abdul Rahman Hotak helped prop one of the world's most austere regimes for women as a newspaper editor and bureaucrat for the Taliban. Now, as a one of Afghanistan's top human rights protectors, he says he has turned a corner.

Sitting in a small grassed yard outside his new office at the Afghanistan's Independent Human Rights Commission, Hotak insists on being a voice in favor of hard-won women's rights in the deeply conservative country, still ranked as one of the world's most dangerous places to be born a girl.

"Unfortunately there are many people who are against women in this country, many of whom I've worked with in the past," the heavily bearded Hotak told Reuters in a rare interview, passionately gesturing under a dark striped turban.

"As a commissioner, I will continue to work with women rights activists to lessen the burden and plight of Afghan women."

So he says, but seriously, would you buy a used car from this guy?

Exactly archaeopteryx - i dont want to see a world of atheists, i want to see a world in which every person has her/his birth right of choice

Comment by archaeopteryx on June 22, 2013 at 7:36pm

I think that's all anyone really wants - a choice.

First, do no harm.

When are people worldwide going to learn you can't force belief on a people - you can force pretense of a belief, but never actual belief.
