RE:  TPM article on Palin - the woman is just awful, she has no shame.  I remember after she was nominated I saw a bumper sticker that read:  "Sarah Palin, WTF??!!" and the more we know her it just gets worse and worse....

His political views seem to be a weird brew - some can be charaterized as "progressive" but he is clearly from the wingnut/Tea Party world.  It is just that he is from the "libertarian" wing of the Tea Party.  Those folks have "progressive" views on things like drugs and individual liberty and many of them are follower of Ayn Rand and, as such, not surprising that they'd be atheist.

Wasn't the guy who flew the plane into the IRS office building in Texas also supposed to have been an atheist?  If I recall, they tried to make a big deal about it but I don't think it ever got much traction.

15 Mind-Blowing Facts About Wealth And Inequality In America

The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. Cliché, sure, but it's more true than at any time since the Gilded Age.

While politicians gloat about our "recovery," our poor are getting poorer, our average wages are still falling behind inflation, and social mobility is at an all-time low.

But, yes, if you're in that top 1%, life in America is grand.

Bill Maher: Glenn Beck Is Like Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard (VIDEO)
Posted: 12- 6-10
Huffington Post

"I think he's doing what some people before him have done like L. Ron Hubbard, who's a novelist and decided, you know what, it's a much easier gig to be a religious leader," Maher responded, adding, "I think Glenn Beck is [segueing] from what he was, mostly a political preacher, to a preacher preacher. It is an easier gig and you make more money, you know, Jim Baker kind of money."

Nigeria to charge Dick Cheney in $180 million bribery case, issue Interpol arrest warrant

The energy services company Dick Cheney ran prior to becoming Vice President of the United States was atop the tongue of liberals each time it was awarded a contract in Iraq.

Now the company's name, Halliburton, is being spoken somewhere else: Nigeria.

According to a story filed late Wednesday, Cheney will be indicted in a Nigerian bribery case as part of an investigation into an alleged $180 million bribery scandal.

"Last week, Nigeria arrested at least 23 officials from companies including Halliburton, Saipem, Technip and a former subsidiary of Panalpina Welttransport Holding AG in connection with alleged illegal payments to Nigerian officials. Those detained were all freed on bail on Nov. 29," Bloomberg News' Elisha Bala-Gbogbo wrote.

"Authorities in the West African nation are probing Halliburton, Saipem and Technip for the alleged payment of $180 million in bribes to win a $6 billion liquefied natural-gas contract," Bala-Gbogbo added. "Panalpina is being investigated for illegal payments it allegedly made to Nigerian customs officials on behalf of Royal Dutch Shell Plc."

McCain Calls Ending the Bush Tax Cuts 'Class Warfare'

John McCain claims that the Republicans have fought to have tax cuts targeted for small businesses, but apparently not if it means getting rid of the Bush tax cuts for the rich. And apparently the Democrats proposing this are waging "class warfare". He's right that there's class warfare going on right now. He just failed to mention that it's his side that's waging and winning it.

Rachel Maddow on Ronald Reagan's Failed Trickle-Down Voodoo Economics

Rachel Maddow did an absolutely wonderful job dismantling the Republican talking points that Ronald Reagan's "Voodoo Economics" or "trickle-down economics" worked, pointing out how the Republicans who keep coming on the air claiming that tax cuts for the rich benefit the "job creators" are full of a bunch of bullpucky.
