My daughter was friendly with a girl in high school who had been circumcised by a local doctor in NY. Her father was a religious muslim but her daughter went to public school and dressed like all the other kids. She confided in my daughter about the procedure, having thought that all girls have it done. My daughter set her straight and she was horrified to learn exactly what her father had done to her. Poor kid. How did her father think that she wouldn't find out from others about what a violation had been performed on her. So sad.

These horror stories continue to amaze me... I don't even know what more to say about the way girls and women are treated by their fathers and husbands who are devout Muslims. Is it getting worse, or are we just getting more news about it?

Fox Most Trusted Name in News

Is the world upside down? A new survey by Public Policy Polling shows that Fox News is the only news organization in the country that more people trust than distrust: 49 percent of people trust Fox, and only 37 percent of people distrust it. CNN was next best at 39/41; then NBC at 35/44, CBS at 32/46, and ABC at 31/46. Seventy-four percent of Republicans trust Fox, with no more than 23 percent trusting any of the other sources. A majority of Democrats, meanwhile, trust all the news sources (most of all NBC) except for Fox, which only 30 percent trust.
