Hello to everyone. Since I finally got a day off work, I thought I'd get caught up on posting. In the 6/23/2011 edition of "The Other Paper" there was an article I wanted to share. "The Non-Believers Come Out" by Eric Lyttle talks about the Freedom From Religion Foundation (Columbus chapter) buying 7 billboards around the Central Ohio area as an encouragement to other Atheists that they are not alone and that people are public with their beliefs. This is the "Evangelical Atheism" that Andrew and I were discussing at the meeting. More and more people are turning away from being quiet or closet Atheists and starting to bring it to the forefront. Atheists represent the largest single minority community in the US but have no representation in government, no special interest or status and organizations that by-and-large meet quietly in the corner of coffee shops :) The Freedom From Religion Foundation is probably our single largest activist organization. These are tough times! It seems the city is enforcing the meters in an effort to generate cash. Don't give them any ideas but they just might install them at the new casino. -speakng of one arm bandits.

Well I think Darrell and I both had a good time and I personally found it refreshing to be able to speak candidly without fear of offending or hurting anyone's feelings. With that said- I think it's pretty obvious that we're all wrong and there is a God and he is handing out parking tickets of wrath.

We had a great time tonite. And, would you believe, I got a fucking parking ticket!!!!! No kidding. Anyway, I hope to meet more of the group next time and be sure to bring lots of change for the meter, lol.

THANKS for the report , It is a START I was hoping it would work to some degree.  I never even got off work until 9 15 or so . I typically never have to do airport runs but the guys personal assiatant was on vacation, and they would never drive or leave their 7 series beemer at the air port even the private ones they use . I hope to be at the one on 6th .    THANKS  to Andrew and Darrell for taking the effort to be first.    best Rich

two attendees- Darrell and myself at the meetup tonight! had a good time discussing evangelical atheism, science and outlets for atheist information. I felt like the venue was a good fit and hope to see more of you next time! I'd like to hear what everybody thinks about wednesday the 6th- same bat time same bat place? the more perspectives we get, the more ground we can cover... bring your two cents!

well the meeting is dwindling but hopefully I won't be the only person there! anyone interested, it is @6:30-8:00, 600 n high mojoe lounge! I'll be in a red t shirt and jeans- 614-824-9062 text me if you're there and not sure if you see me! For those who can't make it, hopefully we catch up with you another time!

I have to do an airport run for one of our residents so I will not get off in time to do the short North meet up,,,,  Hope it works out great ,, tell us about it   thanks  Rich
