Carl Sagan was the consummate human being! One of my true heroes, at the top of the list.

Less than a year and a half ago, I was still a catholic, and the first time I saw Carl Sagan was while watching his series on "The Cosmos" in an astronomy class. My first reaction was 'wow, this guy is lame.'

After becoming an atheist and really listening to what he had to say, I feel remorseful for ever thinking that about him. He was truly a remarkable man, and worthy of the utmost respect.

I'm a fan of Mr. Sagan as well, and thought that the Demon Haunted World was a great book. I actually lucked out and got the Cosmos DVD set at a video store that is closing. All sales were final so they had us check the discs, but mentioned that Cosmos should be fine since they can't remember it ever being rented. Their loss, but my gain. I look forward to sitting down and watching this great series again.

I discovered this wonderful man not long ago I'm afraid, but his Cosmos series are beautiful and inspiring. I'm still watching them. The influence has been so great as to make me question if perhaps I should have studied astronomy. Makes me glad that in my college, they are still playing his series to a new generation of students. The world desperately needs it.

Sagan has been a constant inspiration to me in my life, and we desperately need someone with his hopeful, positive voice to present naturalistic ideas to the wider public.

I grew up watching Carl Sagan's Cosmos. I rank The Demon Haunted World as one of my favorite books, which I intend to read again during the summer.

I would have to rank "Billions & Billions" as one of favorite books I've ever read.

That's awesome man! Introduce him to as many people as possible. To this day I wish I had discovered him earlier in my life...I might be on a completely different career path if I had!

Very nicely put, Gregory. The universe described in Genesis pales compared to the universe described by science. There's just no contest.
Very nicely put, Frink. If one reads The Ancestors Tale by Dawkins and then reads Shadow Of Our Ancestors by Sagan and Druyan, one can see where you're coming from.
