I really like the idea of using a series famous atheists from history with a simple tag line. e.g. Think Athiest, they did.

@Worrell, I like that, too! I might also mix it up a bit on different signs, e.g. a subtler teaser like:

GOT ATHEISM?

Mark Twain, Kurt Vonnegut, Isaac Asimov, 

Dave Barry, Sir Arthur C. Clarke, Tom Wolfe...

or...

Thomas Edison, Albert Einstein, Richard Feynman,

Carl Sagan, Steve Wozniac, Oliver Sacks

What about using famous atheists in history? 

Start with a question...  "Know any atheists?"    and then list several famous atheists...pick some scientists, writers, celebrities...... Mark Twain, Rodney Dangerfield, etc.

It would get people talking... Many would say, "I didn't know he/she was an atheist!"   It would lend credibility to the movement for people to know their famous hero/heroine was an atheist, and also let folks know they are not alone.

We could skip a line and say,  "What do you think?"  Think Atheist!

I have to agree... I love Piper's suggestion. It would be a far cry from the recent one with the Biblical passage about slavery that ended up in a black neighborhood. 

We could do the series of billboards like Piper said.. then end the series with the René Descartes quote.. "I think therefore, I am."

Imagine no religion too
View of the planet (laid out flat) with countries divided by colour and therein named by their religions with sub heading "With" and one where the countries are all the same colour and the words 'human' (or something unifying) to describe the representation of the colour and sub heading "Without"

It's been rite in front of me all this time. A person sitting reading a book. Not just any book, the holy bible. At the top of the billboard a "Think Atheist.com" logo, at the bottom a caption that reads, "How else would we know it's a work of fiction"?
