Went to Mentone Alabama for a few days before Christmas. Couldn't find any scotch, but, DAMN if there weren't a church between every trailer!

Crap at the new group members! Did the Holidays cause the sudden influx or what?

@ Jonel - Also in Alabama. When you walk out my door you can hear a church choir. I think I could stand banjos.

Serendipity, the locals tell me this is the bible belt, but I agree, broad term. It is infinitley more religious than where I come from.

Funny Cara, I feel near panic here my own self. I just keep telling myself I am debt free and it is worth it, some days, it is hard.

This "bible belt" is SO broad! Where isn't it?

I grew up in Mid-Missouri and now live in NW Florida. I never thought of Mid-Missouri as part of the bible belt when I lived there.

I hear people say that they want to move to someplace else but living here makes me appreciate the freethinkers I meet here just that much more. I sooo appreciate our local freethinkers group! I don t know how I'd survive without them!

lol Terri... my grandparents live in Holts Summit MO and I was there last Jan for two weeks. I almost had a panic attack because Missouri is so miserable. I admire you for your ability to stick that place out...

Hey, I live in Alabama.
Yes, when you walk out of my house, you can hear dueling banjos in the background.
