Hey, I'm from southern Missouri.  The one thing I'd love to see before I die is more (well, any) opportunities for community for our kind in rural America.  Wouldn't it be cool if young people in the country who were considering leaving the faith had places to go and people to talk to?

I am not in the bible belt but it has definitely metastasized here.  (Colorado Springs, the evangelical capital of the world.)

I live just above you James.  It does get old when people can not realize that school is school and church is church.  No need to combine them.

I live in Northern/Hunstville area Alabama and I really need help and a way to vent religious ideas without get persecuted. In school all they say is "Jesus is the answer", or "Why are the Atheists trying to take prayer out of school and destroy Christianity" and it gets really annoying really fast.

Hey y'all! I wanted to share two things you might like.

First, the National Atheist Party is something worth checking out, and they are creating state chapters for each state. I spent time reading over what they're about, and I definitely think it's worth a look. In the current political climate we live in, we should formally band together to help protect our rights.

The second thing is a new blog/discussion area specifically targeted towards Southern atheists and topics meaningful to us. It's called Atheism, Y'all, and is worth a look as well.
