Here's food for thought. I live in Alabama and love the weather in the
south. I DO NOT like the cold. However, sometimes I have pipe dreams
about leaving this backwards state (all of you know the many reasons for
getting away from the close-minded south). I would love to find a more
liberal, non-religious place to live but it seems all those places are
in cold climates. I'm thinking of Sweden, Denmark, etc. Does anyone know

I have friends who live in Miami (they are in the military) and they HATE Miami! They complain about the traffic and high crime rate. Truth be told, I will stay right here in central Alabama and put up with the religious conservatives. Too many friends and family around for me to leave.

Florida is pretty nice. I live in Jacksonville, which is very religious, so I wouldn't recommend my town. But, I went to college in Tampa and lived there for ten years and loved it. The Tampa bay area is nice for someone who is not religious, especially St. Pete and Clearwater. And the weather is nice and warm. :) logic minded families that are saying their god is the earth and members get a free offgrid home and business in an ecovillage. They are just everyday people doing macgyver stuff with trying to create a new religious movement of taking care of our planet and each other. - if they have to have a god to thank for their existence-let them turn to Earth as their GOD. Maybe then they might start caring about it.

Didn't Christianity do the same to the Pagans? Took the Holidays and changed them to fit their new father son and holy ghost story. Samhain is now Halloween, Yule is Christmas. I think that the Mother Earth holds enough real scientific magic to be qualified as a god! Doesn't it?

Seattle or Portland!!!
If you want tropical I'd go for costa rica
