That's quite the horror story Neal. Good grief, nothing new about religion using these type of tactics to recruit more obedient members to their blind faith.

Autumn

“After Harvest had brought in its sheaves, and Brown michaelmastide had come and robbed the trees of their leaves, which had been green and delightful in vigor, and had dyed them a yellowish colour and cast them underfoot, that transformation affected me to the depths of my heart; for it reminded me once more that there is no stability in this world. There is nothing but change and mutability. The world is not going to last. Man must forgo it. Death will thrust him down to the ground underfoot. That is everyone’s end.”

Thomas Hoccleve, or Occleve, c.1368-c.1430, was a poet and spent a good part of his life as a civil servant much like his mentor Geoffrey Chaucer. Hoccleve described the everyday life of medieval London in unmatched detailHis chief works include the autobiographical La Male Regle (The Disordered Life, 1406) and a piece written for Henry V entitled The Regement of Princes (1411).

Aaron and luvtheheaven, this is the year that you release your 'inner-child' and make up for all those deprived years without Halloween! Find a party, find a few friends, dress up and go Trick-or-Treating! You'll be hooked and will never not celebrate this fun holiday again.

I've never celebrated Halloween before My parents are fundies so I wasn't allowed to celebrate it as a child. I'd really like to try it out as an adult, though. It looks really fun... and I have over 20 years of candy to lay claim to.

Sydni - You're right, a club of four (now ten) is far superior to a club of one. :)

I'm not really good at celebrating this holiday as an "Adult" yet. I loved Trick o Treating and dressing up until about 8th grade and now I'm a Junior in college and idk I'm not necessarily sure I'll celebrate this year, I don't really want to illegally drink and wear a weird costume, I don't have any friends so I don't have anyone to celebrate with lol. Still I think the holiday is fun lol and I hope to celebrate it like an adult eventually. ;)
