A Catholic priest arrives late for an appointment in lower Manhattan. He drives around the block a dozen times but can't find a parking space. He raises his eyes and begins to pray.
"Lord Jesus," he whispers, "please let me find a parking space in time. If you do, I'll spend the rest of the day on my knees, singing praises to your holy name."
Instantly, a car pulls out of a parking space directly in front of him, right beside his destination.
The priest parks in the space, and raises his eyes with a grin.
"Never mind, Lord," he says, "I found one myself."
