Yeah, I had a supervisor once who went out and bought about twenty $1 tacos. He puked about half way through, and then ate the rest. Go figure.

I used to know people who'd go out and buy 20$ worth of 1$ mini-burgers!

I'm pretty sure they have a $1 menu in the US, but that is not a place I frequent often, only when I'm desperately hungry and nothing else is available. But don't forget, in the US we subsidize our food and energy industries big time, so they can get by offering a $1 meal.

Heh, that's an idea - although in France, it costs more to eat at McDo's than at the local popular resto (at least in my limited experience.) I had no idea they offered $1 menus somewhere.

I guess you could always take your own candles to McDonalds and order from their $1 menu.

I have to admit, this book titillates my curiosity. What kind of ideas are those? Obviously a candlelit dinner at the restaurant is not on the list.

Yes, There Really Is a Penis Festival

OK, it's not actually a penis festival, it's a fertility festival. The Hounen Matsuri in Komaki is famous for it's 600 pound wooden penis, which is carried on a portable shrine called a Mikoshi. There are festivals all over Japan, all year round, and they usually involve a procession with a float. Each is unique in its own way, and this one is all about the penis.
