High intelligence in a child can lead teachers to think a child has a problem. Back about 1961 when I was in first grade there was a kid that moved to my school in first grade. He kept scribbling all over his in class homework and tests. The teacher recommended to the principal that he be put in special education. The principal scheduled an appointment with the parents. By the time the parents and the kid showed up for the meeting the principal realized the kid had all the right answers under the scribbling.  He was to smart and hyper for the class.

I'm 56 yrs old and have a life long severe sleep disorder. ADHD until 52. I can sleep now without injuring myself, because of the medication, but I miss the hyperactivity.

I have not been diagnosed with adhd, but my son is being evaluated for it. I hope to learn more about it.
