I am on my phone for this post.
I just played some resident evil 5 at a friends house. What is the obsession? She has 3 other zombie games on top of resident evil...
Whats the obsession with zombies?
How funny would it be to see a zombie jesus game? Or do they already have that?
Aaah...the intestines! So gross and so, so hilarious.
For Walking Dead fans, check this out: Webisodes!!!
I don't really get the obsession either. But I'm definitely one of the obsessed haha. I loooove drawing people zombie style.
p.s. isnt Jesus considered a zombie?
I mean, after poking around this site for a couple of months, I can understand the facination with zombies with respect to TA afficianados (sp?). After all, wasn't the central figure of (one of) the reasons we are here, himself, a zombie?
BTW......What do vegetarian zombies eat?
(leaves quietly by the back door..)
Maybe the idea of cannibalism resonates with something primal in our psyche that echoes along our genome chain? Maybe we as a species were all cannibals once or will I be made to eat these words.....?
I agree that cannibalism has probably been key to our survival in hard times. But I think it's that we find idea of cannibalism so repulsive (and threatening, if you're on the menu) that we feel justified, even compelled to destroy the cannibal...thus the appeal of zombie-killing games.
You need to read this:
I'll quote it here for everyone, because it's just. That. Awesome.
Here's the weirdest graph you'll see all week. It's graphing the popularity of zombie movies versus vampire movies, split out by whether the president at the time was a Republican or a Democrat. There are exceptions, but in general when a Republican is in office, it's all about zombies. When it's a Democrat, it's all about vampires:
I linked to it, too, so if my quoting is hard to read (it is for me), just click the link...
As a fan of both vampire and zombie movies, I enjoyed this immensely. Very funny and interesting. I don't know what an independent would fear...perhaps a zombie/vampire hybrid...oh, I want to see that movie! I lean left, so this 'analysis' sheds some light on why I confused the vampires in I Am Legend for mutant zombies. :-D
@ nathan, um wow
zombies = people/stuff you can kill and not feel bad about it
we can psychoanalyze it more if you want to but. . .
I'm not the one psychoanalyzing it, but the article makes some damn good points. If you think about it, zombies are rather conservative while vampires are rather liberal.
I have no clue which I like more, but I'm all about killing. Though I question whether zombies are, or should be, easy targets. How should a zombie be, exactly? Slow, lumbering, only knowing one word, or still smart, still talking, agile, strong, and fast? It may be less realistic, but I rather prefer the zombie that can almost trick you into thinking it's still alive.
