Not such an intelligent design, creating a world that frequently slaughters hundreds of thousands of men, women and children. What is the religious excuse for natural disasters?

Permalink Reply by Kendra Willems on August 10, 2012 at 6:29pm I agree, there isn't a good excuse. I don't even know what the bad excuses would be, though...
Permalink Reply by Mabel on August 10, 2012 at 6:36pm Oh, I can tell you what the bad excuses are. The most popular one is god "allows" these things for "mysterious reasons" because all things work together for good for god's will. Also a lot of times theists will say god allows these things because he has given us free will. I don't personally see the connection with that one but I hear it all the time. I also hear this one: "It's god's will and god's will is not for us to question" which kind of falls under the "mysterious reasons" category.
