This has been bugging me for a long time now. I get it that most people believe that being gay or homosexual is an abomination, but they should be able to marry whoever they want to. Right? I don't know if it's just me who feels this way, but please share your opinion.

Of course not. Limit marriage to consenting adults. Dogs and cars cannot give consent.
These are separate issues. though. Religious crackpots routinely compare homosexuality with bestiality. Why? Gays are not animals.
But since you mentioned bestiality: You can kill a sheep. Make a coat from the skin. Knit a sweater from the wool. Make a gyro from the muscles. Build a sign from the bones.
But for goodness sake don't fuck the sheep. That would be exploiting it.

If you enjoyed that, here's something you might find even more funny.
A few Christian readers responded as though I was advocating bestiality after I made a similar comment on another site.
Triple-stupid!
Permalink Reply by Unseen on December 10, 2012 at 7:38pm We should be advocating bestiality as an ad hoc solution to the problem of the exploding human population.
Permalink Reply by Strega on December 10, 2012 at 8:06pm More gays required. That should help. (maybe we gays are Nature's way of keeping down the population).

Ha! I knew they were robots; I just knew it!
Awesome.

In the future, cars will be able to give consent.
All creatures on the planet exploit other creatures.
Permalink Reply by Kris Feenstra on December 10, 2012 at 7:41pm Legally, I do not believe that it is considered consent. If you've heard of any court rulings to the contrary, I'd be interested to hear the details.
Permalink Reply by Unseen on December 10, 2012 at 8:07pm I didn't know the law had weighed in on whether dogs engaged in procreation had an element of consent...or not.

No. Animal procreation is instinctual not consentual.
In the future, cars will be able to give consent.
Let's say one day we do invent machines with human consciousness. Ought the machines have rights? I would think. It gives a bestial twist to "Do androids dream of electric sheep?" that I'm sure Philip K. Dick never imagined.
All creatures on the planet exploit other creatures.
Are plants creatures? If yes, then plants don't exploit other creatures because they make food from water and sunlight. If not, then herbivores don't exploit other creatures because they only eat plants.
