no you know i have my beliefs and i believe there is god and his son died for us.... okay you want hate mail ill send hate mail.... i try to be as christ would want me to be to you non believers but if thats not ok to you i can treat you badly

There goes what little shred of credibility you had left.

Here's the thing. You're also somebody else's non-believer. Do you believe in Zeus? Vishnu? Odin? Brahma? No? Why not? Do you believe Allah is the same as God? Aren't you worried that you'll burn in Muslim hell for not being a Muslim and being an "infidel"?

I've long since come to the realization that the whole "sacrifice story" is a crock of crap. It's a perversion of the true sense of justice. Not the least of which it all boils down to the simple fact that your "god" made us to be human but then tells us that being human is a BAD thing, and just for the simple act of being born, we all deserve an eternity of torture from this "loving god" unless we follow "the messiah". And the reason for all this stems from when the world's dumbest woman got tricked by a talking snake to eat a magical apple in a magical garden that the idiot sky tyrant purposefully placed within easy reach, knowing exactly what would happen because he can see the future, and then blames us for the consequences of his purposeful set up.

Does THAT about sum it up?

And WHY should we take this seriously?

Guys, don't you know? If the bible directly contradicts what they claim about their god and their beliefs, it's a matter of context and interpretation. When the bible seems to support what they claim about their god and their beliefs, it's the direct, divine words of God himself, and to be taken literally.

Are we really giving serious consideration to the Catch 22 approach?

Will Alicia ever come back? I don't see her in the past page or two. I read every reply and cannot believe the ignorance shown on Alicia's part. "drop it" is not a logical response to being called out on a lie. Neither is trying to twist things into something you can "live with" because the truth is too hard to handle.

I'm currently having these same discussions with my father, who is an ordained minister and at least he has the brains to try and argue his points throughly and not be so quick to judge, delete the emails and 'pretend' to be right about it all.

Open, honest discussion - thats what you're wanting right? You're on an atheist website, did you expect us to go "oh, the original poster said it's not rape, so we'll just believe her"??? No, we actually use our brains here and read/study and not try to bend the truth, we only find it and agree with it - because it's the truth. What you're trying to tell us is not the truth, only your own distorted view of some very straight forward scriptures.

Would you also like to talk about the 100+ contradictions in the bible? I have a document I can send you if you'd like. Plain English examples of the contradictions in your book.

haha. yeah, I doubt she'll be back. unless she's already back, just as an alias to try and trick us. I mean, she's used some killer wisdom in previous weeks/months, who's to say she couldn't outsmart us like that? :)

okay folks im here i have been busy with my life as i didnt have to time to argue with u about what i know is true and believe to be false...... your beliefs are yours and mine are mine you arent going to convince me otherwise and im obviously not going to convince you otherwise so whats the point in the argument?

Convincin' you isn't the argument. Evidence is & your book clearly defines its moral value on a woman's life.
