Hi

Curious Canadian here.  I've been wondering, as your election cycle heats up...who makes a \"better" president?  Is it one with executive experience (eg past governors of states...Jimmy Carter, GWBush) or senatorial or house of reps experience (Obama, Ford, Bachmann...Ra forbid!)?

Any ideas as to why one's governmental experience affects their presidential performance?

My personal preference is for someone who has some experience in Congress and his record reflects that s/he is more interested in people than in corporations. That was what I saw in JFK, Clinton, Carter and Obama. Carter turned out to be weaker than I expected. Obama has been too willing to compromise with GOP demands. However, I think that may have reached a turning point. I hope so.

Darlene, spoken like a true "dyed in the wool" democrat.  America's two party system continues to stifle real progress.

It's a shame Americans aren't willing to give superhero Obama even more tax money so he can continue to spend our way to prosperity. I mean were only FOURTEEN TRILLION in the hole at this point. sheeesh......

Since the primary traits of the American politician in Washington D.C. is to be inept and self-serving their prior experience has little bearing on the issue.....

No-one makes a better president, since they are all only interested in themselves, their political backers, and their party.
