I would like to start with Evolution. If it's possible could you recommend me documentaries rather then books, I still live with my parents(they're religious and don't know I'm a atheist)so it;s kinda hard to read around here.
Permalink Reply by Nelson on February 19, 2012 at 12:09am I'll suggest some books and leave the documentaries to others since books are what I'm best at.
Richard Dawkins- The Greatest Show on Earth
Richard Dawkins- Climbing Mount Improbable
Richard Dawkins- The Ancestor's Tale
Jerry Coyne- Why Evolution is True
Sean B. Carroll- The Making of the Fittest
Cameron Smith- The Fact of Evolution
Jonathan Weiner- The Beak of the Finch
Donald Prothero- What the Fossils Tell Us and Why it Matters
Neil Shubin- Your Inner Fish
John Avise- Inside the Human Genome
Daniel Dennett- Darwin's Dangerous Idea
Elliott Sober- Evidence and Evolution
John and Mary Theberge- The Ptarmigan's Dilemma
Those will give you some insight into evolution. These next few will give you help you understand the bankruptcy of "Intelligent Design"/Creationism and the attacks against evolution mounted by proponents of Intelligent Design/Creationism.
Paul F. Lurkin and Linda Stone- Evolution and Religious Creation Myths: How Scientists Respond
Robert Pennock- The Tower of Babel: The Evidence Against the New Creationism
Nial Shanks- God, the Devil, and Darwin: A Critique of Intelligent Design Theory
Ardea Skybreak- The Science of Evolution and the Myth of Creationism
Barbara Forrest and Paul Gross- Creationism’s Trojan Horse: The Wedge of Intelligent Design
Maarten Boudry- Here Be Dragons (doctoral dissertation but available in pdf form online)
Matt Young and Paul K. Strode- Why Evolution Works (And Creationism Fails)
Matt Young and Taner Edis- Why Intelligent Design Fails: A Scientific Critique of the New Creationism
Read 2 from each section and you'll have the gist down. Read more and you'll have confidence. Read them all and you'll be set. :)

Permalink Reply by Nelson on February 19, 2012 at 12:21am My pleasure. Happy to help. You can say thank you to me by using this link when you purchase your books on Amazon. When you do so, you pay no more than you would normally through Amazon, and your books ship just as fast, but Amazon shares a tiny slice of their profit with Think Atheist and that goes to support the site and our various projects. You're going to buy them anyway, why not do it in such a way as to support the community? :)
