I will turn the other cheek if:

• I think the other person is right, and I'm wrong
• it doesn't matter
• I wish to forgive the other person
• I want to keep the peace, and peace is the most important thing at the time
• someone just wants a reaction out of me

I will take action if:  

• the other person is threatening my well-being unjustly  
• the other person is a bully of any description
• the other person is making life difficult for everyone
