Following is one of my favorite Frank Zappa quotes...
"Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe."
I contend that religious fanaticism is the most abundant element in the universe. But then again religious fanaticism could be classified as a sub genre of general stupidity so I guess Frank is right again. What do you think is the most abundant element in the universe?
Isn't this just a little too humanocentric? Sure, we've seen a lot of stupidity on Earth, but we need to consider the whole universe.
But, given statements like this, perhaps something as simple as "self-centeredness" could be the biggest building block in the universe? Religious people think their deities revolve around them; phenomena like gravity show that mass is innately and intimately self-centered. Then we have comments like this, which imply that, even at its most enlightened, perhaps humanity is still too full of itself? ;)
God is everywhere, so god is the most abundant element that exists in the universe at any time and outside the universe and outside of time. He is in you and me. Now go rejoice in this wonederful news! (puking as I type this malarchy)
