I love the Jefferson Memorial in DC. There is one wall with an inscription that states:
I am not an advocate for frequent changes in laws and constitutions, but laws and institutions must go hand in hand with the progress of the human mind. As that becomes more developed, more enlightened, as new discoveries are made, new truths are discovered and manners of opinions change, with the change of circumstances, institutions must advance also to keep pace with the times. We might as well require a man to wear still the coat which fitted him when a boy as civilized society to remain under the regimen of their barbarous ancestors.
I've looked at where we are today and wondered if our founders were around today knowing what we know and being the men they were, how different would our Constitution look? What would they add and remove? Would they incorporate our current level of technology into it?
There is so much that could be done.
These are just some ideas off the top of my head. What are some of the things that you all can come up with?
