What is your take on extraterrestrial intelligences, have you seen "UFO"s , or even been in one if you lucky and caught by a surprise ? Have you met any people from other planets ? Or simply if you have not, what are your thoughts about the topic, and would you like to have an experience ?

Do you believe in the existence extraterrestrials ? (Belief is based on faith or trust without looking at the evidence, data, mathematical models, that is because your friend saw something, and you trust your friend, without research, that is belief)

Do you understand the existence of extraterrestrials ?

(Understanding is based on collecting data , evidence, mathematical models such as drake equation, astrobiology research etc and deriving a conclusion)

Do you know the existence of extraterrestrials ?

(That is when you have had your own personal experience, scrutinized it to be legitimate experience, as well as comparing your experience with other's evidence data and so on)

Why, hang on... is that... yes!

Those are the extraterrestrials from the Pareidolia planetary cluster in the Apophenia nebula!

Cool!

Yep was using this picture as an example, did this one in Photoshop as an artist impression... i could have used my profile picture as well...

Gestalt psychology tells us that the mind will try to make sense of what it sees. This is why optical illusions work. Another thing the gestalt-ing function (if I may coin a term) does is it tries to find objects in a field of perceptions, be they real or random.

Have you never seen some clouds resembling some familiar object?

Yep

Like this on looks like a horse or dragon...

Wish I'd thought of that - I can understand your idolizing me, but do you have to repeat everything I say? Worse than a parrot --

our minds are hardwired to try to make sense of things, and via that process, are able to imagine shapes in clouds that really exist only in our minds

That's funny, I was going to say the same about you two, considering I've pointed that same stuff out hours ago. I didn't make up those names.

I missed that, because I just assumed the names were made up.

OMG, can't believe I missed the humor in this one that we're replying to, earlier! How to produce a "mansample", eh?

Hey Unseen, you threw me off with that proposal of Gestalt-ing, unless you meant that the lines drawn over the graphic were simple those that the artist wanted to perceive.

(I also see a left-facing profile of Homer Simpson now, instead of the lady.)

I understand what you're trying to do, by enlarging the image, but the truth is, just as our minds are hardwired to try to make sense of things, and via that process, are able to imagine shapes in clouds that really exist only in our minds, so too, should I give reign to my imagination, would I be able to mentally rearrange the light and dark areas in that image, to create a number of different objects in my mind, none of which would necessarily be accurate.

I DID see something near the end of the clip, and I wish I had jotted down the time-stamp, but I was too intent on not taking my eyes off of the video, that appeared to me to be a humanesque form raising its arms from a lowered position to a raised one, but then I was under the impression that what we were supposed to be seeing, was water being drawn up from someone's pond, and I found myself wondering why a human form would be found in a column of water (which, oddly, didn't seem to extend much further that a couple of feet off the surface, leaving me to wonder why it didn't extend all the way to the light).

The video left me with far more questions, than answers.

Meanwhile, back to FaceBook - this is a followup to the piece I posted yesterday, about the petition:

Hi there -

Thanks one and all for the support concerning my Facebook account suspension. If you are on FB and would like to help, please go here:

https://www.facebook.com/MythicistMKE/posts/530015043757972

It would be helpful if everyone shared that ^ status comment and asked people to "like," share and sign the petition, which is linked in the comments. Also, be aware that Mythicist Milwaukee will be a gathering place for my FB friends.

Here is the direct link to the petition to have my account reinstated - there are over 1300 signatures so far! Let's see if we can get that to a couple of thousand.

Here is my blog post explaining the issue:

The subject of forced virginity tests is much worse than I thought, as entire states in places like Indonesia are trying to compel them upon all schoolgirls. This is a subject that we must not let fall by the wayside, as this abhorrent invasion of privacy is being committed in the West as well.

Because of my account closure, Facebook has now helped to draw more attention to this terrible affront to the basic human rights of females.

As always, thank you for your ongoing support.
