What is your take on extraterrestrial intelligences, have you seen "UFO"s , or even been in one if you lucky and caught by a surprise ? Have you met any people from other planets ? Or simply if you have not, what are your thoughts about the topic, and would you like to have an experience ?
Do you believe in the existence extraterrestrials ? (Belief is based on faith or trust without looking at the evidence, data, mathematical models, that is because your friend saw something, and you trust your friend, without research, that is belief)
Do you understand the existence of extraterrestrials ?
(Understanding is based on collecting data , evidence, mathematical models such as drake equation, astrobiology research etc and deriving a conclusion)
Do you know the existence of extraterrestrials ?
(That is when you have had your own personal experience, scrutinized it to be legitimate experience, as well as comparing your experience with other's evidence data and so on)

You GOTTA quit trying to cheer me up!
ET, or no ET - I am totally in favor of everyone working together.
^_^ same here
Don't let them touch you, Danielle - they're not worth it.
I haven't seen any evidence of extra terrestrials, nor had any weird sightings. But I can tell you the reasons why I don't think we on earth are likely to meet any, even though other life forms almost certainly have the potential to exists somewhere in the vastness of space.
Time:- The Universe has existed for 13.8 billion years. Humans have existed for a couple of hundred thousand years, and humans potentially capable of interacting with alien life have probably been around for 120 years at the very most. The chances of an alien getting the timing right for finding any kind of civilised exchange is about 0.0000000001%. That makes it pretty unlikely that we have been 'visited', at least in my mind.
Scale:- The Universe has all kinds of sized stars and planets in different galaxies. There could be a replica of Earth and its solar system elsewhere, but it could be much larger, or much smaller. Either of those is more likely than it being an identical size. So the 'alien' life forms would be unlikely to be in our scale - they could be fifty times larger - or the size of fleas. I can't see how we could imagine them to operate on or even near our physical scale.
If aliens turned up on time, and to scale, I think I'd be incredulous.
I do however, believe that the mind can play some extraordinary tricks on us. Dreaming, for example. What the heck are our minds doing when we dream?. I think a mind is perfectly capable of filing something that was a dream into the "fact archive", and vice versa. I don't believe we can ever know how much of that we each do daily without noticing. I believe that the people who believe they have interacted with aliens really do believe that, and that to them that is a fact, because they remember it as fact.
Well , i do hope one day you would see something, but even when you do you might dismiss it, such as my cousin for example was trying to relate earth objects to the craft we saw, and when she ran out of possibilities that did not match she got scared of me, and lost touch, and is very quick to chase me back home when these things start showing oustide her home, or remain questioning it like one of my favorite you tuber, Bionic Dance , who shared her experience, and seems to be comfortable accepting what she experienced as an "unknown experience" waiting for another or finding evidence that would match with hers. I agree space vast and very big, but when you look at the past when people believed that traveling through the air from place to place was science fiction, and I think its the same viewpoint when people look at space travel, working around the speed of light restriction, and its theoretically possible with the warp engine which here they call it the Alcubierre Drive http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alcubierre_drive, but as you say they have not physically constructed one yet, what are the odds of people on other planets who have built a working one ?
Well that is an interesting theory about dreaming and may be true with some cases, but how would explain a dream in some cases producing real footprints or have inserted an implant into the body of the person they have visited ?
All else aside, the concept of "warp drive," is definitely being considered as possible.
I agree with that, more possible than a stargate :p
I have no problem with that statement - there are those on this thread (though hopefully, -+1) who fail to comprehend the concept of compassion.
I know, but they are nothing compared to some of the things I experienced with people, to be honest it is far safer on the internet sometimes... apart from facebook, where you say something, and find the police or even G4S at your door 30 minutes later, which I have experienced before.
I've been taught that it's very impolite to discuss another person in their presence but it's impossible not to in a forum environment.
In my opinion Danielle's take on ETs is way "off", and I have not pulled any punches in saying so.
Some of the stuff she's found and posted is laughable. What's been overlooked is that Danielle herself, in some cases, has joined in the laughter. She has not, as far as I can see, claimed the existence of any proof supporting the existence of ETs - she's posted entirely on-topic stuff which she thought to be interesting on the subject. Given that we are now on page 48 of this thread, she's clearly not alone.
I see a few posters attacking her claims and, unfortunately, some attacking her personally. There are a few others being kind and, I must say, condescending. She does not need protecting. She's a big girl with strong opinions and, despite all these attacks, she continues to return and make comments on the material - definitely not the persona of a victimized weakling.
Also she's no dummy. She has posted comments on other threads which were intelligible and topical.
While I find it hard to understand how she can be so matter-of-fact in discussing ideas everyone else finds extraordinary, she finds it hard to understand how I could possibly equate ET delusions with God delusions. This doesn't stop me from believing that she an entirely sweet and likable person.
I am, however, mildly traumatized by seeing posters ALL of whom I admire greatly at each others' throats. We have a LOT in common. Can we please take a step back and pretend that we are all in the same room. There's no way we would speak to each other with such disdain and derision were we gathered together face-to-face.
