I often wonder what all the Christians would do if the Pope said he got a message from God telling him all non-believers should be killed and he condoned it, (lets just say he went crazy) and the killing would be required for their salvation.

Look, if Pat Robinson can get a message, why not the Pope?

How far would your neighbors, mothers, brothers, son's and daughters go to make their God happy?

It has happened in the past in similar situations for real!..I still hold some level of fear that I very well could be burned at the stake for expressing my non-belief...in the presence of fundamental religious irrationality and bigotry here in the State of Arizona. I wish I could be absolutely certain it could never happen....but....

Many catholics I know think that the last pope went crazy when he accepted the premise of biological evolution. I valued that that example of the catholic perceived papal "insanity" !!!

Jeff

I expect many (particularly non-Catholics) would quickly No True Christian him. But I would not be surprised at all to find that some Catholics, particularly in heavily Catholic-dominated countries, would go with it.
