What happens if a religion decides to operate under a single ideal and makes it their sacred journey to convert or kill all others?

What happens if some major event happens and one religion unifies and makes it their mission to convert all others? Millions, possibly billions of supremely motivated religious zealots fighting a war against everyone at all times. People of said faith everywhere see it as their sacred duty to go into the street and kill or convert at least one person. I'm talking about constant random attacks. Every day there would be thousands of attacks world wide. Millions of would be attackers lying in wait. Their methods would be vast; bombings, arson, shootings, runaway vehicles and airplanes. Will profiling be allowed? How would we combat it? How could we stop it? Could we stop it?

But I'm talking about constant random attacks. Every day there would be thousands of attacks world wide.

I hope you all know that this is the goal of the Islamic Republic (of Iran) which is openly advocating for the return of the "hidden imam" which means as a prerequisite the conquering of Jerusalem as accorded by the Hadith and a destruction of humanity through war, genocide, and famine of 2/3rd of the human race.

You can see a video produced by the regime themselves and leaked by former CIA/Revolutionary Guards spy Reza Kahlili (as this was meant for internal Revolutionary Guards distribution) with English subtitles provided:

If it were to go down as you said then I would fight and I would not be alone. Non-believers #'s are growing in the US military.

I for one will not go quietly into the night.

New Age Inquisition

It has already happened.  It was called the Dark Ages.

People learned to pretend that they held the prevailing religious beliefs.  Those who could not lie were killed, usually brutally.

Ironically, the original settlers in the U.S. came to get away from European theocracies.

Even if your idea could come true, which I doubt since religions are so widely varied and already at each other's throats there's very little room for common ground, it's hardly guerilla warfare. For one I've never heard of any extremely religious person keep their religion to themselves. Just ask them what they thought about chapter such and such in such and such book and almost immediately they have an opinion. Guerilla warfare tends to work better when people don't talk about which side their on. Read up on the history of Vietnam and you'll know what I mean. Atheists on the other hand... Well, I can join my family for church on christmas eve and nobody bats an eye, I play it as a courtesy to my parents and pretend for a night to be someone I'm not. I can say I'm religious, join the group, go through the motions, and so on. Also guerilla warfare is commonly used as a strategy by smaller groups, not large ones. Atheists are a minority on Earth and share little else in common. It's easy for us to slip into the back ground. Essentially we could break it apart from the inside, instigate violence within an already tense population. Harder for the religious to do so, since well, they have big freaking churches and religious schools, their officials tend to be well known. I mean in the U.S. there's one area completely dedicated to religion, the flippin' bible belt.

I misspoke, I meant to say attacks would come suddenly and without warning.
